 ABOUT VINYL WRAPS

Vinyl Wraps (also known as vehicle wraps, auto wraps, bus wraps, wall wraps, window wraps, etc.) are an exciting new indoor/outdoor advertising and personalization medium.

A vinyl wrap is like a big sticker really. They are created by applying ink-jet printed or solid-color pressure sensitive adhesive vinyl onto any vehicle surface. For durable long-term wrap applications and to protect the printed surface, a thin crystal-clear vinyl overlaminate is laid over the wrap to protect it from harmfull UV Rays and weather elements.

The simplist vinyl wraps use only solid-colored pressure-sensitive vinyl to literally change the color or appearance of a painted surface such as turning a gloss-black vehicle into a matte black appearance other than paint.

Vinyl wraps are non-permanent and can be removed or changed out quickly. Depending on the original application, if treated well, a single vinyl wrap application can last for years.

The vehicle wrap process involves a few steps:

  1. Design
  2. Production
  3. Install
  4. Remove/replace

The first step is the design process, during which you will consult with Comp-Cal© about your advertising goals and desired look of the wrap. Our graphic designer will then work up a design layout for you to approve.

Once you've finalized the design, the production phase of your wrap will begin. Your design will be printed on large sections of 3M vinyl meant for use on vehicles, and then laminated with 3M overlaminate to provide weather-resistance and the desired finish - usually either gloss or matte.

Installation typically takes 3-5 business days, depending on the size and difficulty of your particular vehicle, and will occur in our facility. Comp-Cal© utilizes a variety of industry tools, including a plastic squeegee for application, a razor knife to trim edges, and a torch to heat the vinyl for better workability.

Why do I need a wrap?

Wraps allow you to personalize your vehicle with almost any conceivable message or design. With the use of large format digital inkjet printers, Comp-Cal© has the ability to utilize modern graphic design methods to produce large-scale signage quickly and easily.

You need to wrap your vehicle(s) for the following key reasons:

  1. According to studies, vehicle wraps offer the most bang for your buck as a form of advertising. Wrap advertising costs are as low as $0.48 per thousand impressions. As a comparison, television can cost over $20 for the same reach!
  2. Wraps have a one-time cost rather than the monthly cost of things like phone book listings, radio ads, TV ads, and billboards.
  3. Wraps are not stationary. They go where you go, exposing your message to a brand new group of consumers each and every day.
  4.  The results are real. Ask yourself right now if you can think of a local company with wrapped vehicles. We bet you can ...
