Comp-Cal's founder Brian Wittkamp has been involved in racing for more than 20 years and has been designing creative custom artwork for as long as he can remember.  Wittkamp's racing career started in 1985 with Quarter Midgets in Meriden, CT's Silver City Quarter Midget Club which 11 years and many feature Wins later took him to a 1996 Truck Series Track Championship at Riverside Park Speedway in Agawam,MA.

Along the way he designed his own paint schemes for whatever he raced winning countless "Best Appearing" Awards.  He also designed custom paint schemes and graphics for his family's local businesses, U.W.E. Uwe Wittkamp Enterprise and HELLER'S AUTO SERVICE in Danbury, CT.  In 1998 Wittkamp and his family moved to North Carolina to utilize their skills in NASCAR's top level of competition, Winston Cup now known as NEXTEL CUP.  Wittkamp's father is currently one of Evernham Motorsports top fabricators and Wittkamp himself works full time for 3-Time Cup Champion Joe Gibbs Racing.  Although he works full time for JGR, he uses his personal time to run and operate Comp-Cal Competition Decals.

Wittkamp's talents as a fabricator have helped him be part of 2 Nextel Cup Championships, the 2005 Brickyard 400 Win, and more than 12 Cup and Busch Series Wins, but his true passion still lies with the artistic part of racing.  That is why he founded Comp-Cal Competition Decals.

Wittkamp started Comp-Cal with the idea to supply the local racing community with professional graphic design services and attention to detail unlike local sign shops.  His intention is not to be like your local sign shop and just give you the basics.  Wittkamp's goal is to provide the racer with the professional services they should recieve.  From Sponsor Graphic Layout's ( SGL )'s to applying the racer's graphics himself, he's in it for the racing part of the business.  So the local racer will get a racer to provide them with their graphics, that's why they're Competition Decals. Oh yeah, does Wittkamp still race?  When he's got the time....
